GEORGETOWN, Texas -- Southwestern Men's Golf is tied with the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs in two rounds of play at Berry Creek Country Club.
Hosting the West Region Invitational, the men's golf team posted a 289 in the first round of play and a score of 301 in the second round to average a score of 590 a this Monday.
Following both Southwestern and TLU, in third place is Nebraska Wesleyan, the University of Dallas is at fourth, Belhaven University and Howard Payne are tied for sixth. Southwestern's B team comes in at eight and Centenary at ninth.
Sutherland Stith led the Pirates with a 68 in the first round and 76 in the second round, only one par short of TLU's Chase Maus who ended the day in first. Stith tied with another Bulldog, Colin Uecker, who both ended the day with a score of 144.
Matthew Christl came in fifth after a 72 and a 74, and John Kellum snagged ninth after a 71 and a 77. Devon Horne from the Southwestern B team posted a score of 72 and 79 to end up in 14th and Cade Osgood tied for 17th with a score of 78 and 76
The West Region Invitational will continue Tuesday, April 2, at 8:30 a.m.
