Men's golf headed to national championship

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Southwestern men's golf team is headed back to the NCAA Division III Championship for the fifth time in program history after receiving a Pool B bid Monday afternoon. The championship will be held at Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina beginning May 15th.

Southwestern competed in the national championship in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 and posted their highest finish in 2014 where they came in 11th.

The Pirates have climbed the rankings throughout the season and were in the top ten nationally as the year came to a close. They added to their resume after winning their third consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship at the end of April, all but solidifying their spot in the national championship.

Sophomore Cade Osgood was named as a semifinalist for the Division III Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award presented by Barbasol and won medalist honors at the SCAC Championship.
