Pirates Wrap Up Fourth Place Finish at Jekyll Island Collegiate

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - Among a loaded field, the Southwestern University men's golf team shot a 287 (-1) on Sunday afternoon to finish with a three-round score of 870 (+6) to finish fourth at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational at Jekyll Island Golf Club - Pine Lakes.

Methodist pulled away to win the event with a score of 853 (-11) while Guilford was second with a score of 864 (E). Huntingdon earned a third place finish at 869 (+5) while Emory tied the Pirates with a score of 870 (+6). Southwestern defeated seven ranked teams at the event among 12 teams in the top 25.

Sophomore Cade Osgood earned a third place finish individually after shooting a 72 (E) on Sunday for a three-round score of 210 (-6). Osgood finished with six birdies on Sunday. Senior Tyler Gammill placed fourth after a 70 (-2) gave him a three-round score of 211 (-5).

After a pair of 77s, senior Sutherland Stith finished strong with a 70 (-2) on Sunday for a three-round score of 224 (+8). Junior Matthew Christl finished with a score of 225 (+9) while junior Devon Horne rounded the scoring out at 235 (+19).

The Pirates will take some time off before returning to action on April 9th as they will host the West Region Invitational at Berry Creek Country Club.
