Christl named SCAC Men's Golf Player of the Week

LEWISVILLE, Ga. - MATTHEW CHRISTL OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore from Flower Mound, Texas, has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for competitions played through Tuesday, March 21st.

Christl led the Pirates to a 14th place team finish at the competitive Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational. The Pirates compete among a field that featured 14 teams ranked within the top 20 nationally by Golf Stat. Seven teams were ranked within the top 10.

Christl finished in a tie for 43rd in the field of 150 golfers. He posted a score of 225 through the 54 hole competition, highlights by a 72 in the first round.
