LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference named Southwestern University men's golfer Connor Murphy Co-Golfer of the Week for tournaments through Tuesday, September 16.

A sophomore from Searcy, Ark., Murphy was named the SCAC Golfer of the Week after helping the Pirates rally for a second place finish at the Rhodes College Fall Classic. Murphy posted a score of 144 through the two-day 36-hole competition.

His final score was the second-best on the course, coming just one shot behind the individual champion. Murphy fired a 75 in the first round, but improved to a 69 on Monday to rally individually and place tied for third.

The Pirates returns to the course at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Fall Invitational Monday, September 22 and Tuesday, September 23.
