Cowart Qualifies for 2013 Texas State Amateur

Sophomore Jordan Cowart qualified for the 2013 Texas State Amateur. The event will be held on June 13-16 at Lakeside Country Club in Houston and hosts over 150 of the top amateurs from across the state. 

Jordan shot a one-under-par 71 at Eagle Point in Houston on Sunday, April 28th, finishing tied for 8th. The top ten in the field of over 50 amateur golfers, many of them from division I and II schools, received an invite to the 2013 Texas State Amateur.

Jordan and the rest of the Pirates are playing well right now after finishing in second at the 2013 SCAC Conference Championship. SU is hoping for a spot in the NCAA Championship field that will be announced on May 6th.
