GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Southwestern University football team will continue its season-opening road swing against McMurry on Saturday evening in Abilene. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. at Wilford Moore Stadium (3,200).
The Pirates (0-1) are looking to bounce back from last week's loss to Hardin-Simmons in the season opener. SU scored its only points in the fourth quarter on a 23-yard touchdown pass from freshman quarterback AJ Daniels to junior wide receiver Matt Gillen.
Junior wide receiver Micah Sherman is returning to McMurry (1-0) for the first time since playing for the War Hawks as a freshman.
McMurry opened the campaign last Saturday with a 49-22 victory at East Texas Baptist.
