Southwestern to open 46th year of play on Saturday at Hardin-Simmons

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The 46th season of Southwestern football will get underway when the Pirates travel to Abilene for a Saturday afternoon tilt against Hardin-Simmons.

The non-conference tilt is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. and the game can be seen live via KMAC Sports on SouthwesternPirates.com.

It will mark the 10th meeting all-time between the two programs. Southwestern won the last matchup, 7-0, on Oct. 26, 1934, in Georgetown.

Led by third-year head coach Joe Austin, the Pirates are 20-20-5 in season openers, including a 27-20 victory over Sul Ross State last year.
