Shea earns SCAC Offensive Player of the Week honors

GEORGETOWN – More history continues for the Southwestern University football team Monday as Colten Shea was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after a record setting performance in the return of Pirate football.

Shea recorded the first touchdown for the Pirates in 63 years on a historic night for the Pirates. The Georgetown native scored on catches of 68-yards and 40-yards as he finished the night with nine catches for 258 yards – nine yards shy of the SCAC record for receiving yards.

However, the first-year wide receiver also had six kickoff returns for 109 yards as he finished the night with 367 all-purpose yards breaking the SCAC single-game record for all-purpose yards as Southwestern played its first football game in 63 years.

Southwestern returns to action Saturday as they travel to Muskogee, Okla. to take on Bacone College.
