Pirates make it five straight with win over Austin College

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Southwestern's run continued on Saturday evening as they defeated Austin College 65-53 to improve to 11-9 on the year and 6-3 in the SCAC.

Southwestern held an eight point lead at halftime and maintained a comfortable advantage throughout the second half. The 'Roos did pull as close as five points, 52-47, with just over six minutes to play, but two threes by Ben Stiver and a Zach Whitlock jumper put SU back on top 13, 60-47.

SU shot 42.3% from the floor and 35.3% from three point range and was led by Stiver who posted 17 points. Whitlock added 13 points and a team high 17 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the year. Chris Molina added 12 points.

Ogden creeps within eight points of 1000 after tonight's seven points. Ogden would become the third Pirate player since Southwestern joined Division III in 1993 to reach the milestone, joining Aaron Bowser (1367) and Robert Cates (1003) who both accomplished the feat during the 2005-06 season.

Ogden logged his 500th career rebound Friday night and currently sits at 513.
