
GEORGETOWN, Texas – Southwestern was unable to overcome a tough night offensively, falling 79-68 to Trinity University in their first home SCAC tilt Friday evening.
Southwestern struggled offensively early, shooting 22.6% in the first half and was down by 15 at the break.
Despite the off night, Southwestern trailed by only nine points, 63-54, with four minutes to play after Chris Molina's three. In the end, however, SU was unable to get the stop defensively they needed to make a big enough dent in the deficit.
The Pirates ended the game shooting 32.3% from the floor and 37.5% from three point range. Ben Stiver led SU with 18 points and a team high nine rebounds while Joel Martinez added 15 and Chris Molina 11.
Southwestern (6-8, 1-2) remains at home to face Schreiner University (5-9, 2-1) on Saturday for a 6 pm contest.
