IRVING, Texas - Senior guard Ben Stiver was unstoppable offensively, going 7-7 from the field, 6-6 from three point range and 2-2 from the free throw line to lead the Pirates to an 85-73 win over the University of Dallas Friday night.

Southwestern led by just one point at halftime, 33-32, but went on a 20-4 run midway through the second half to take a 16 point lead, 66-50, with 7:10 to go.

Dallas pulled within 10 points with one minute remaining, but Southwestern sealed the win going 4-6 from the free throw line in the final stretch.

SU shot 49.2% from the floor and 44.4% from three point range. Stiver's 22 points was matched by Zach Whitlock who also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Luke Hicks added 11 points and eight boards.

Southwestern (5-6, 1-0) heads to Colorado to take on Colorado College (2-9, 1-0) on Sunday at 3 pm.
