SHREVEPORT, La. – Southwestern had an uncharacteristically rough night offensively and dropped their first round SCAC Championship contest 71-60 to Austin College Friday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- AC used strong runs to bookend the first half, leading early and then took a nine point lead, 38-29, into the locker room at halftime.
- Southwestern came out of the locker room on a 5-0 run, but AC pushed their lead even higher to 14 points, 50-38, with 12 minutes to play.
- With three minutes remaining Southwestern cut the deficit in half, trailing 61-55, but were unable to claw any closer as the clock wound down.
