Men’s basketball drops overtime contest in Colorado

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Southwestern was out scored 21-8 in overtime to drop their SCAC contest to Colorado College 86-73 Sunday.  

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The entire first half was tight and Colorado College took a four point lead into the locker room 36-32.
  • SU led briefly four minutes into the second but the lead pinballed back and forth throughout the rest of the half.
  • Connor Kim's three with 56 seconds remaining put Southwestern up one, 64-63, but CC took the lead back with a jumper from Justin Berardino. Chris Molina was fouled and converted on one of two free throws to send the game into overtime.
  • Southwestern was scoreless the first three minutes of overtime and spelled doom for the Pirates as the Tigers pulled way ahead before closing out the game.

  • Connor Kim: 13 points, 4-9 3PT, 4 assists

Southwestern drops to 8-12 on the year and 5-4 in the SCAC. They return home to face Schreiner on Friday for a 6 pm tipoff.
