AUSTIN, Texas – Southwestern men's basketball and Concordia combined for 201points and shot over 50% from the field in Wednesday night's non-conference action. The Tornados took the win 103-98.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Southwestern opened the game on a 7-0 run, but the Tornados tied the contest at 27 with nine minutes remaining in the half and took a 12-point lead into the break, 62-50.
- The Pirates cut the deficit to five, 74-69, six minutes into the second half on Chris Molina's layup.
- SU hung close and finally tied the game 88-88 with just under five minutes remaining. The Pirates were never able to seize control, however, as the Tornados closed out the game from the free throw line.
