Graham named assistant men’s basketball coach

Southwestern University Director of Athletics Dr. Glada Munt and Head Men's Basketball Coach Janson Hightower announced Thursday morning that Zac Graham will be the assistant coach for the men's basketball team. Graham comes to Southwestern after serving two seasons as the graduate assistant at St. Edward's University.

Graham was a part of the coaching staff that guided the Hilltoppers to a 22-8 overall record last season, earning a trip to the Heartland Conference Tournament where they fell in the championship game.

Graham played four seasons at St. Edward's University and was a member of the LBJ High School teams that won three consecutive district titles with a third place finish in the UIL 4A state playoffs.

During his time at St. Edward's Graham was also heavily involved in running the basketball camp as the assistant director. He has a bachelor's degree in communications with a master of business administration, both from St. Edward's.

Graham will enter a program that went 15-11 overall and 8-6 in conference play, earning a spot in the SCAC Championship as the #3 seed. There the Pirates advanced to the semifinals with an 81-76 double-overtime win over Schreiner before falling to Centenary 87-80.
