Baseball Down Three Games Against Stags

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Southwestern University Baseball opened up their home contests on Friday night against the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday against the Stags, in which game one was scheduled for seven innings, followed by a full nine for the evening game. The Pirates fell to the Stags in each of the three contests by margins of 4-11, 4-13, and 6-15, respectively. The final game of the Pirates vs. the Stags will take place on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 PM.

  • Freshman Designated Hitter Owen Stevenson hit a three-run home run over left field.
  • Jake Harris had two hits with one double and one run scored against the Stags.
  • Ben Feuer gathered two hits and one walk for the Pirates

  • Southwestern gave up nine runs in the sixth and seventh innings to end the game. 
  • The Pirate defense added their third double play of the series.

  • Christian Melillo hit the Pirate's second three-run homer of the day in the bottom of the third. 
  • Ben Feuer drove in two RBIs on one hit in the bottom of the second.
  • James Vaquero led the Pirates in hitting for the game with two total.

  • Southwestern baseball returns to Rockwell Family Field on Sunday to take on the Stags in a final of the four-game series.
