GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Seven Southwestern baseball players were named to the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Teams, it was announced on Friday night at the conference championship at AirHogs Stadium.

Ethan Hallmark and Jeremy Rice both were named to the second team, while Colton Hunter, Ben Little, Daniel Montgomery Jr., Colby Schmidt and Ethan Widoff garnered honorable mention.

Hallmark, a junior outfielder, leads the Pirates in several offensive categories, including batting average (.367), runs (38), home runs (6), slugging percentage (.585) and stolen bases (10). The Midlothian native has produced 14 multiple-hit games this spring, including three four-hit contests. He posted a two-homer game in a game against Austin College on March 31.

Rice, a senior right-handed pitcher, is the rotation leader for Southwestern. The Houston native is 4-5 with a 2.63 ERA in 61.2 innings. He has logged a pair of complete games and struck out 34 batters. Rice fired a nine-inning no-hitter in Southwestern's victory over Blackburn on March 17.

Hunter, a freshman right-hander pitcher, is 4-2 with a 3.86 ERA in 37.1 innings. He has struck out 30 batters, while walking only five. The Round Rock native limited Dallas to six hits and no runs in his last outing on April 9.

Little, who hails from Bellaire, received honorable-mention All-SCAC laurels for the second time in his career. The senior outfielder is hitting .357 with seven doubles, seven triples, four home runs and 31 RBIs. He also boasts a .554 slugging percentage.

Montgomery, a freshman shortstop, is batting .347 (34 for 98) with eight doubles, a triple, two home runs and 19 RBIs. The Boling native currently holds a 19-game hitting streak, and he has logged seven multi-hit and five multi-RBI contests.

Schmidt, a sophomore first baseman, holds a .302 batting average with a team-leading 13 doubles, three home runs and 29 RBIs. He also leads the team with 19 walks and 278 putouts. Additionally, the Liberty Hill native has put together 14 multi-hit games, including a 5 for 7 performance against Blackburn on March 17.

Meanwhile, Widoff, a sophomore second baseman, is hitting .294 (20 for 68) with two doubles, a triple and 12 RBIs. The Greenwood Village, Colorado, native also has scored 16 times and swiped nine bases.

Southwestern will face Texas Lutheran in the first elimination game of the SCAC Championship Saturday at the AirHogs Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
