Pirates fall short against Concordia Texas, 6-4

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Southwestern scored two runs in the first two innings, but Concordia Texas posted five over the next four to take control and defeat the Pirates, 6-4, on Tuesday night at Rockwell Field.

The Tornados (9-7) used a three-run fifth inning to take the lead.

Southwestern (6-9) managed two runs in the bottom of the sixth, but were unable to bring home any more.

The Pirates had two in scoring position when the game ended in the ninth.

Colton Hunter (1-2) suffered the loss after yielding four runs on four hits in four innings of work.

Ethan Hallmark tallied two hits and drove in a run to pace Southwestern at the plate.

The Pirates will host Trinity in a three-game conference series this weekend. The set opens at 6 p.m. Friday.
