ETBU posted a run on the scoreboard first with a two-out single by Rader in the second. With one swing of the bat in the third, Austyn Laird handed the lead over to the Pirates with a two-run homerun over the left field fence.

Two outs rallies continued to be the strength of the Tigers as they pushed another run across in the fourth, tying the game 2-2.

The Pirates took advantage of a Tiger error to score the go ahead run in the sixth, but ETBU worked their two-out magic once again and scored in the seventh to tie the game 3-3.

Southwestern went back to work offensively and executed to perfection to manufacture another run. Laird drove in Michael Ilardi after back-to-back sacrifice bunts by Ryan Jackson and Jason McCormack moved pinch runner Ilardi to third.

Needing just three outs to seal the win, the Tigers got the run they needed with a lead off double, stolen base and blooper up the middle to tie the game 4-4 in the top of the ninth. The Tigers had runners in scoring position but a huge inning ending double play by Robert Wehman brought SU to the plate with a chance at the win.

Neither team was able to capitalize until the 11th inning when ETBU scored the game winner on double down the leftfield line by Compton, plating Lloyd. The Pirates weren't able to get anything going in the bottom half of the inning and fell 5-4.

Eric Honeycutt garnered the loss in two innings of work while ETBU's Wadle got the win. Brett Marcom had a strong day on the mound in the start, going seven innings and allowing three runs on eight hits.

Laird led at the plate for Southwestern, going 3-4 with two RBIs and a walk. Chase Allen was also 3-4 on the day as SU posted 12 hits in the loss.

Southwestern falls to 13-11 on the year while ETBU improves to 13-10. The Pirates return home for SCAC Conference action where they still sit atop the SCAC. They will face Austin College for a three-game series beginning at 6 p.m. Friday.
