The SU Pirates's offense erupts for 13 runs in victory over #5 Cal. Lutheran

The SU Pirates continued to pile up the runs on Sunday, scoring three runs in the last three innings, en route to an easy 13-0 win over Cal. Lutheran at Keno Complex Tucson, Ariz.

The SU Pirates scored four runs in the fifth on the SU Pirates scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Colton Shea, an RBI single by Will Cates, and a two-run single by Chase Allen.

Will Cates was solid at the plate for the SU Pirates. Will Cates went 3-6, drove in one and scored four runs. 

Jeremy Rice got the win for the SU Pirates. He tossed five innings of shutout ball. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered seven hits.

Marshall Pautsch took the loss for Cal. Lutheran. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked one and struck out one.

The lead stayed with the SU Pirates after the first, when they scored one run on an RBI single by Robert Wehman.

The SU Pirates built upon their lead with two runs in the second. A error scored Shea to get the SU Pirates on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Ben Little's double, scoring Will Cates.

The SU Pirates scored three runs in the fourth inning, and then followed it up with three more in the seventh. In the fourth, the SU Pirates scored on an error, bringing home Austyn Laird.
