GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Centenary offense caught fire and defeated Austin College 19-3. The Gents put up 20 hits and the defense was able to keep the Roos at bay.
Centenary jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st. They put up 5 hits in the frame, highlighted by the 3 RBI double down the left field line by Martinez. The Gents added 3 runs on 4 hits and an error in the 3rd.
Austin College retaliated in the top of the 4th with 3 runs. Schommer had the big single to left field that scored 2 runners to cut it to 9-3.
It would be all Centenary from that point in the game. They put up 5 runs in both the 4th and 6th innings to secure the 19-3 win. The offense for the Gents collected 20 hits on the afternoon and Henry pitched 5 solid innings to pick up the win.
Centenary advances to play Trinity tomorrow at noon. Austin College awaits the winner between Southwestern and Dallas and will play them tomorrow at 3:30pm.
