BELSKI NAMED AS TEXAS ITALIAN AMERICAN SCHOLAR FOR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR

For the second year in a row, rising junior Kyle Belski has won a Texas Italian American scholarship. The award is given annually by the Texas Italian-American Sports Foundation to up to 20 deserving college student-athletes.

Belski (pictured with Hunter Pence of the Houston Astros) was a designated hitter and first baseman and appeared in 35 games for the Pirates in the 2009 season, starting 33 of those contests. He led the team in RBI’s (31), was fourth overall with a .330 batting average, third in hits with 36 and second in doubles with 10.

Belski, a 2007 graduate of Dulles High School, is majoring in Kinesiology at Southwestern.
