PIRATES FALL AT RHODES

PIRATES FALL AT RHODES

Feb. 28, 2009

Southwestern University battled the challenging weather in addition to Rhodes on Saturday and both teams fell.

The women lost 7-2, dropping all three doubles matches and four singles. The two wins came from a Rhodes forfeit in the fifth and sixth flight due to travel and poor weather conditions. Mary Pennington narrowly fell to Tinney in the second flight falling 7-5 in the third set.

Southwestern's men fell 8-1 with Nick Parker earning the lone victory for the Pirates by defeating Snedden 5-7, 6-4, 10-7 in the first flight.

The Pirates continue their season with another road game, traveling to Atlanta, GA to take on Oglethorpe on March 3. Matches begin at 2:00 pm.
