Co-sponsored by Sodexo and one of Southwestern’s Paideia cohorts, the annual One Swipe fundraiser will return for another year to benefit the less fortunate in Georgetown.
With Valentine’s Day falling on a Saturday this year, the annual lunch time One Swipe Event will take place on Monday, February 16th from 11am – 2pm. Students are asked to swipe their Pirate Card at the Commons to donate their lunch and show some “love for the unloved” in the community.
Sodexo will match donated meals by donating food to the Georgetown Caring Place, local high schools and the Meals on Wheels Center on 8th and Scenic.
The program has been organized by students in Don Gregory’s Paideia group in cooperation with Southwestern’s food service provider, Sodexo. Organizers are calling it the “One Swipe” program.
