Five Pirates Named to SCAC All-Sportsmanship Team

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) today announced its 10th annual fall All-Sportsmanship teams. A total of 37 student-athletes were selected to the 2017 squad in the sports of men’s cross country, women’s cross country, men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball including from from the Southwestern Pirates.

Junior John Hattan of men's xc, junior Morgan Forteith women's xc, junior Jake Swonke of men's soccer, sophomore Romie Reyna of women's soccer, and senior Kate Mitchell of volleyball all earned a spot on the team.

The SCAC places a special emphasis on sportsmanship each year and is asking all fans of the conference to exhibit good sportsmanship at all conference functions throughout the 2017-18 season. Read the SCAC Presidents’ Council statement on Fan Sportsmanship.

Each head coach was asked to elect one member from his or her team who displayed good sportsmanship throughout the season. 

This year's honorees feature eight All-SCAC performers, including four who earned First Team All-SCAC status including Mitchell.
